Ulrike Petersen began her musical training at the age of eight as a pupil at the internationally renowned music school in Weimar. She studied violin with Peter Tietze and Wolf-Dieter Batzdorf at the College of Music “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin. After graduation, she was member of the Rundfunk Sinfonie Orchester Berlin for three years.
Ulrike Petersen was a founding member of the Petersen Quartet, which was awarded prizes at a number of international music competitions, including those in Prague, Evian, Florence, and Munich. She was the ensemble’s first violinist for twelve years. Since 1994, Ulrike Petersen has been second concertmaster of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
