Eduarda Melo studied piano and singing at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory in Braga, Portugal. She later graduated from the Advanced School of Music and Theatre in Porto. She attended numerous master classes with Rudolf Piernay, Laura Sarti, Philip Langridge, Jill Feldman, Galina Pisarenko, Gundula Janowitz, Manuel Cic and Tereza Berganza. She started her stage career in 2000, singing Papagena at the V.N. Gaia Auditorium in Porto, and has appeared since then as Rosine in Offenbach’s Un mari à la porte at the Teatro Helena Sa e Costa in Porto, as Furie in Gluck’s L'Ivrogne corrigé at the Teatro Viriato in Viseu, as Sandmännchen and Taumännchen in Hänsel und Gretel at the Teatro da Trindade in Lisbon, as Cock and Jay in Janáček’s Cunning Little Vixen at Teatro Rivoli in Porto. She had a main role in the European première of Dracula by David del Tredici at the Teatro Rivoli in Porto and sang in La Voix humaine by Poulenc at la Casa das Artes in Porto, a piece she also performed at la Casa da Musica in Porto. She played Madame Robin in Offenbach’s Le Fifre enchanté and Gismonda in Händel’s Ottone at the Teatro Helena Sa e Costa in Porto, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro da Trindade in Lisbon, Haydn’s L’Infedeltá Delusa at the Festival d’Aix en Provence, at Monte Carlo and in Spain with the Cercle de l’Harmonie under Jérémie Rohrer, and Zemina in Wagner’s Die Feen at the Théatre du Chatelêt in Paris under Marc Minkowsky. At the Opéra de Marseille she appeared in Gounod’s Mireille, in Menotti’s The Saint of Bleecker Street, in Roméo et Juliette and in the Magic Flute. She has regularly performed as a soloist with ensembles such as Remix Ensemble, Ensemble Barroco de Chiado, Orquestra Sinfonica Portuguesa, Orquestra do Norte, Orquestra do Algarve, conducted by Martin André, Cesario Costa, Osvaldo Ferreira, Pierre-André Valade, Orquestra classica da Madura, Jean- Sébastien Béreau, Stefan Asbury, Laurence Cummings, William Lacey, Franck Ollu and Michael Zilm. Eduarda Melo received a 2^ème grand prix at the Concours International de Chant in Toulouse 2010.
