Anna Karasińska studied at the Academy of Music in Poznań and at the Royal Academy of Music in London under Prof. Joy Mammen, obtaining her diploma with honours in 1996. She perfected her skills under a range of famous singers including Fassbaender, Schlick, Ameling, Gedda, Vignoles, Schollum, Esswood and Kirkby. Anna Karasińska was a prize winner at the 1993 National Vocal Competition Gdansk, the 1995 National Mozart Competition in Southport, the International Schubert Competition and the XX Century Music Competition, among other contests. In 1997, Anna Karasińska made her opera debut in Krakow with Pamina in Mozart’s Magic Flute. In Krakow she sang Mimi in La Bohème as well as Julietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi (with Richard Bonynge), for which she won the National Prize In Memory of Halina Słonicka (1999). In 2001 Anna Karasińska took part in the International Beethoven Festival, singing Marzelline in Beethoven’s Fidelio (with Leopold Hager). In 2002 she made her debut at the Great Theatre in Warsaw as Mélisande in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande. She also appeared in Rossini’s Viaggio a Reims (with Alberto Zedda ), in Tansman’s Le Serment, in Puccini’s La Rondine, in Verdi’s Nabucco, Bizet’s Carmen, Penderecki’s Ubu Rex, Verdi’s Aida and in Strauss’ Salome. Anna Karasińska’s has an wide repertoire of songs, with a variety of different styles. She has sung many recitals in prestigious halls together with great polish pianists such as Krystyna Borucińska, Janusz Olejniczak, Krzysztof Jabłoński and Ewa Pobłocka. She was also a soloist at the Barbican Centre in London and at venues such as St. Martin in the Fields in London, La Madeleine in Paris and the Tonhalle in Zurich. Anna Karasińska sings both oratorio and symphonic music, having worked with Sinfonia Varsovia, National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR), Polish Radio Orchestra, and most of the philharmonic orchestras in Poland. She has also made many recordings for Polish Radio and Television.
